Event Description: The American Cancer Society Relay For Life Movement is the world's largest fundraising event to end cancer, uniting communities across the globe to finish the fight. Dollar raised by more than 4 million Relay participants in more tha 20 countries help the American Cancer Spociety save lives by supporting education and preventing efforts, funding groundbreaking cancer research, and providing free information and services to people with cancer who need them. At Relay For Life, teams made of business, family, and friends camp at Oxnard High School, taking turns walking around the track while enjoying entertainment, music and fun activities keep things lively. Symbolizing the battle waged around the clock by those facing cancer, the event lasts 24 hours. teams raise money prior to the event, and the celebrate their fundraising efforts while honoring survivors and remembering those lost to cancer with ceremonies during the event.
